Clarisse Fava-Piz, The Phillips Collection’s Curator of Modern Art, discusses a special installation of artworks by Pierre Bonnard. Fava-Piz specializes in 19th- and early 20th-century sculpture and has curated numerous exhibitions across major institutions, including the Denver Art Museum and the Meadows Museum. Washington Studio School students and Studio Gallery DC artists examine how personal narratives and diverse backgrounds shape everyday life. This exhibition weaves together themes of immigration, local landscapes, and creative traditions across America. Rather than a singular portrait of the country, each piece retains its unique character while contributing to a larger picture of shared contemporary experience. SAAM Arcade [Interactive Event] July 25, 11:30 AM-7 PM | Smithsonian American Art Museum | FREE
Experience video games as an artistic medium at this annual day-long celebration. This Indie Showcase specifically highlights games created by women in video game development. Attendees have the chance to play and talk directly with the designers and coders. Triforce Quartet will help set the mood during certain hours, but the first 90 minutes are designated quiet hours for sensory accessibility.
